The County of Santa Clara Recycling and Waste Reduction Division (RWRD) is an integral part of the County’s Consumer Environmental Protection Agency (CEPA), supporting waste reduction activities that preserve resources, enhance sustainability, and mitigate climate change.

As a member of the Countywide Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), RWRD helps to plan and oversee programming supported by Countywide sold waste fees and managed by RWRC Committees.  The following are a few of these key resources

Our staff manage the garbage and recycling contracts for Unincorporated Santa Clara County residents and businesses, in order to optimize services for customers while meeting State and local regulation for public health and safety.

RWRD serves as the Fiscal Agent and the City of Morgan Hill serves as the Administrator and Contracting Agent, for the Recycling and Waste Reduction Commission, and it’s Committees on behalf of Santa Clara County cities.

RWRD also collaborates closely with the County’s Household Hazardous Waste program which is also managed under CEPA, as well as the Green Business Program, managed out of the County Office of Sustainability.
